Robusta (Coffea canephora) is hardier than Arabica, higher in caffeine and heavier in body. Indian Robusta, grown under shade at elevation in the Western Ghats, is prized for a smoother, cleaner cup than many origins — especially the washed Parchment grades.
What is the difference between Robusta Parchment and Robusta Cherry?
Robusta Parchment is wet-processed (washed): the cherry skin and pulp are removed before drying, giving a cleaner, brighter cup that commands a premium. Robusta Cherry is dry-processed (natural): the whole cherry is sun-dried, producing a heavier body preferred by instant-coffee manufacturers and some blenders.
Who buys Indian Robusta green coffee?
- Espresso roasters who want body and crema in their blends
- Soluble and instant coffee manufacturers
- Importers and traders supplying roasters across the Gulf, Europe and Asia
How do you confirm Robusta quality before shipment?
Each lot is checked for moisture, screen size, defect count and foreign matter. We share a sample from the lot with its quality report, and can arrange cupping notes or third-party inspection on request.
