Versa Traders exports Tellicherry black pepper — TGEB (Tellicherry Garbled Extra Bold, about 4.25 mm and above) and TGSEB (Special Extra Bold, about 4.75 mm and above) — cleaned, graded and certified, in bulk with samples on request.

Tellicherry grades are selected by size from the Malabar pepper crop of Kerala's Western Ghats. Bigger berries are more mature, with more complex aroma and fruit notes — which is why chefs, premium retail packers and gourmet spice brands specify them.

What is the difference between TGEB and TGSEB?

Both are Tellicherry garbled grades selected by sieve size. TGEB (Extra Bold) retains berries of about 4.25 mm and above; TGSEB (Special Extra Bold) retains only the boldest berries of about 4.75 mm and above, and is priced higher accordingly.

Why is Tellicherry pepper more expensive?

Only a small share of each harvest meets Tellicherry size standards, and bold berries carry more aroma. Premium retail brands pay for that consistency and visual appeal in grinders and gift packs.

It is the boldest size selection from the same Malabar crop. Malabar grades like MG1 describe the standard export size.
